Well, with out spending a little, I’m not quite sure. I have alot of birds coming to my garden along with squirrels. I how ever, buy plenty of suet cakes, and have a bird bath as well.

Some foods that will attract wildbirds and squirrels to your backyard are peanut butter, peanuts, apples, oranges, bananas, grapes, cherries, and berries. Orange marmalade and grape jelly are also favorites.
It’s best to place the food near bushes or trees if you’re trying to attract wildbirds.
Also, place a shallow dish of water outside for the wildbirds and other animals. They get thirsty and need to drink. The wildbirds will also bathe in the water. Keep the water close to the food source.

I highly recommend buying wildbird seed or cracked corn to attract both platform feeding birds and ground birds. The squirrels will also eat all of the food I mentioned above. Squirrels also enjoy eating corn on the cob. Almonds are another favorite of squirrels. I have a ton of squirrels in my yard, as well as wildbirds.
