what kind of birds do you have?????
they all like sprayed millet, and try sliced up grapes, cooked rice, boiled eggs shell in all……

  4. Cockatielluver Says:

well all birds should have 40% pellets 40% veggies/fruits and less than 20% seeds (seeds should only be feed as treats) in their diet. Apples, peas, and bananas are good for fruits and veggies. Ask your AVAIN vet the next time you go for the YEARLY check-up.

Some foods that will attract wildbirds and squirrels to your backyard are peanut butter, peanuts, apples, oranges, bananas, grapes, cherries, and berries. Orange marmalade and grape jelly are also favorites.
It’s best to place the food near bushes or trees if you’re trying to attract wildbirds.
Also, place a shallow dish of water outside for the wildbirds and other animals. They get thirsty and need to drink. The wildbirds will also bathe in the water. Keep the water close to the food source.

I highly recommend buying wildbird seed or cracked corn to attract both platform feeding birds and ground birds. The squirrels will also eat all of the food I mentioned above. Squirrels also enjoy eating corn on the cob. Almonds are another favorite of squirrels. I have a ton of squirrels in my yard, as well as wildbirds.

Don’t worry, they know it’s there! Birds are naturally timid so they’re waiting to see who is game enough to go first, after that they’ll all be in like flint.

  2. David Says:

This time of year your feeder is competing with natural food sources that birds like better. The seed eaters will be around more in the winter when their natural sources of food are scarce. This time of year many people put their seed feeders away and put up hummingbird feeders. You don’t need to buy special food to feed hummingbirds. Follow the link if you are interested.

  3. Sunny Says:

sprinkle some seeds around the bushes and then sprinkle some under the feeder. sit back and wait.
works every time … unless the birds are eating bugs and don’t eat bird seed.
    good luck.

  4. Rob E Says:

Each bird type will eat specific types of food, so don’t expect that all of yours will eat from your feeder – depending on what feeds you’ve added.

Your birds will have noticed your feeder, it’s just that they take some time to adjust to it, and develop their trust. I’d identify the birds that you have around, and check that you have seeds that they will eat. As others say, birds do vary what they eat, including naturally available food, though often when they’re rearing young is a good time for them to have plenty of food around to feed them. For this reason, it’s highly recommended to have food and water out for birds at all times in the year – they do get to rely on it, so get someone to fill your feeder if you’re away etc, In winter time it’s great to provide high energy feeds, including fat blocks etc.

Otherwise, birds that are perhaps not in your yard at the moment will also be enticed in – I’ve put Nyger seeds out, that some finches love, and after waiting a few weeks, they miraculously turned up – as if knowing it was there by some 6th sense!

So, have some patience, check that you’ve got the right type of feed for your birds, as well as the best way to feed them -some prefer to eat off flat surfaces, such as the floor or bird tables. Don’t have food on the floor if there’s a high risk of cats etc.

Over time, it’s probably worth adding an alternative type of feed too, such as having mixed seeds and a specific feed type, such as sunflower hearts. More variety will attract a more diverse group of birds in, and just ensure that you have water out too, as they like to bathe and drink, and water is often scarce in summer time.

Final tip – clean your feeders often, as communal feeding places are easy ways for bugs to be passed between birds.

Hope this helps. Good luck! Rob

if your starting saltwater i’d say go for it…
freshwater umm i dont know but i’d still go for it

  2. Chris W Says:

it depends on how serious you are about keeping fish also depending on if it is for a long time or short time if u get a 120 gallon tank u can get many good beautiful fish if yr serious bout fish keeping and learning everything u need to know bout fish then yes it is worth it ,u can choose from marine fish, tropical or freshwater/goldfish but as a starter i would suggest u either go for freshwater/goldfish or tropical as these are both easy to look and care for but for a marine carer takes a lot more experience hope this helps u out and good luck with what u decide

  3. trek Says:

If you start with a small tank, you will end up wanting a bigger one. I say get the 120 gallon tank, but don’t spend a whole bunch of money on fish until you figure out what you are doing.

  4. aquarium decorations Says:

As per my knowledge and what i have heard the bigger is the fish tank the easier it becomes to take care of. So if you take a small fish tank you will feel like having bigger one. So if i was you, i would get the 120 gallon of fish tank. So go for and remember take care of your tank even though its a bigger one.

  5. sweetansassy Says:

I have always heard the bigger the tank the easy it is to take care of. I like my 2 smaller tanks because i can have one tank with aggressive fish and one with committee fish. But i have to say i think a big tank like that would be really neat and fun to have. Than you could get bigger fish like Bala sharks Good Luck to you in what ever you decide just remember you still have to take care of the tank no matter how big or small it is.

    Buy a dog crate.

  2. Aleasha C Says:

Try keeping her in a bathroom while you are gone. Put some water in there, toys, chews, and a bed. She should be fine for a few hours.

Puppies should be taken out at least once every two hours (or within a half hour after eating or drinking) and guided to the same spot where they can smell having relieved themselves before. Immediately after they “do their business,” they should be praised lavishly in a high-pitched, excited voice. Crate training does not speed up the housebreaking process: Puppies do not develop full bladder control before 6 months of age and are physically incapable of “holding it” for very long.

  3. Hugo F Says:

get a dog crate and use the command kennel up

  4. SleepyJ Says:

A crate will be your puppy’s best friend and yours! You should try training her right away and the crate will last you for quite a awhile is more cost effective than a barrier/gate

A old door, or section of panel board, plywood would be too heavy to handel. Ive even use a long folding tabel to block a door.

  1. No Drama Says:

For day-to-day use, nothing. For a finer point of english Aquaria is more than one of the same type of aquarium, a plural of a singular. Whereas aquariums is more than one of several different types of aquarium. It’s a plural of a plural.

In the same ways as one tuna is a fish, twenty tuna are fish, all the species on one reef are fishes.

  2. Kenny N Says:

i think aquaria is a tank that u buy that is all ready set up and ready to use. and an aquarium is just the glass tank its self

  3. iceni Says:

None. They are both the plural form of aquarium

Stay away from the cheap crap like petsafe. There are collars that spray citronella when the dog barks. Those work okay for some dogs. Dogtra and tritronics are the best stim collars for small dogs.

  2. Bark Off Says:

    Hello Heather,

Sorry to hear that. It is natural for all dogs to bark but nuisance barking is a problem for all of us. Have you tried Bark Off? It is an ultrasonic device that fits in your pocket and very easy to use. It is just $ 10! Worth a try and Hope this helps you. Good luck.

    Thanks

  3. dog training collars Says:

At times your small dog which is not yet trained may constantly keep on barking and at first you won’t notice this thing; but slowly the barking may become irritating for you, your family and the neighbors. For that reason it is always a good idea to buy small dog bark collar to stop your pooch from barking continuously. Every dog lover who has small puppies or dogs in home should get this device which is very helpful in maintaining the noise of the dog and also helps in training.

  4. shock collars for dogs Says:

The first step to finding a bark collar for a small canine is to seek out what type of bark collar would work best on your dog. For those who really feel they could possibly be corrected with a simple high pitched tone, than you need to begin to search for a UltraSonic bark collar. For those who feel you will want just a little extra assist, you can go together with the Citronella bark collar or go to a shock collar

When you were a baby, would’ve liked to get electrocuted when you were hungry and couldn’t tell your parents that you were hungry, or needed attention?
Barking is like a dogs way of talking, they don’t do it for the hell of it.
maybe you shouldn’t own a dog if it bothers you so much.

  2. Tulip Says:

    Shock Collars
Dogs wearing shock collars can suffer from physical pain and injury (ranging from burns to cardiac fibrillation) and psychological stress, including severe anxiety and displaced aggression. Individual animals vary in their temperaments and pain thresholds; a shock that seems mild to one dog may be severe to another. The anxiety and confusion caused by repeated shocks can lead to changes in the heart and respiration rate or gastrointestinal disorders. Electronic collars can also malfunction, either administering nonstop shocks or delivering no shocks at all.

    Electronic Fences
Dogs whose yards are surrounded by electronic fences may develop fear or aggression aimed at what they believe is the source of the shock (kids riding by on bikes, the mail carrier, the dog next door, etc.). Dogs have been known to run through electronic barriers when frightened by fireworks or chasing a squirrel and then be too scared to cross back through the barrier.

Electronic fences may actually encourage animals to try to escape. Since dogs only suffer painful shocks in the yard, they may associate the shock with the yard itself—once they get out of the yard, the pain goes away. The fact that the pain returns when they try to reenter the yard can cause dogs to believe that they are being punished for returning home.

Even when animals are confined within certain boundaries of an electronic fence, they are still in danger of attacks by roaming dogs, cruel humans, or other animals, who can freely enter the property. Electronic fences are a dog thief’s dream come true!

How the Citronella Bark Collar Works-NO shocks
Every time your dog barks, an electronic sensor releases a painless spray of citronella in front of the dog’s nose. Your dog will hear it, see it, feel it, and smell it. The first time the dog is sprayed, it will attempt to identify the source of the new odor. The effect of surprise is sufficient to interrupt the dog in its undesirable behavior.

the most common reason is the dog is BORED that why it barking-more play toys, more mental stimulation and longer walks, for a chow mix under 30mintues doesn’t seem very long.

  3. Tina B Says:

please dont get a bark collar they are so crule i dont know why antone would do that a citranella collar it sprays citranella under the dogs nose and they hate the smell works very good .

  4. Sam W Says:

    hi,

Collars and harnesses are made of the same materials and serve the same purpose–attaching your dog to a leash. But they work in different ways and some dogs will do better with one versus the other.

  5. winterrules Says:

A lot of people have negative feelings toward electronic training collars. I have used electronic collars for years with my huskies. After trying several different brands and talking to other dog trainers and handlers I have come to the conclusion that the best electronic training collars are made by Tri tronics. I have 4 of their bark limiter collars and they have been reliable and the batteries last about 6 months with frequent use. They use an easy to find lithium battery.

Some of the collars I tried that weren’t satisfactory are:
PetSafe – It shocked the dog when he wasn’t barking.
DT Systems – After about 6 months it started needing new batteries every few days.
Innotek – After about 8 months the non replaceable rechargeable batteries wouldn’t hold a charge.
Dogtra – Same problem as Innotek

I tried a citronella collar. It worked on some dogs but other dogs learned to ignore it. The citronella refills are expensive, too.
